Fox News has suspended Eric Bolling following sexual harassment claims
Welp, Fox News has decided to suspend Eric Bolling after Yashar Ali of the Huffington Post reported there is evidence he sent pictures of his private parts to his female co-workers.
Fox News said that Bolling was “suspended pending the results of an investigation, which is currently underway.”
On Friday, Ali reported that Bolling sent pictures of his private parts to at least four of his current and former female co-workers.
Ali said that one of the women responded to Bolling, telling him to “never send her such photos again.”
Bolling, of course, is denying that he did anything wrong. Yashar Ali quoted Eric Bolling’s lawyer, Michael J. Bowe, as saying, “Mr. Bolling recalls no such inappropriate communications, does not believe he sent any such communications, will vigorously pursue his legal remedies for any false and defamatory accusations that are made.”
Notice that Bolling’s lawyer doesn’t say his client didn’t do any of these things. Bowe instead says Bolling can’t “recall” and “does not believe” he did anything wrong.
Now, a person must ask, “Why would a lawyer use words like recall and believe, which leaves open the possibility that the act did occur?” Recall and belief are not definitive words that erase away doubt. Recall and belief are words that raise more questions that lead to doubt about a person’s innoncence.
And in Bolling’s case, folks would not be wrong to doubt his version of the alleged events that his lawyer says Bolling can’t “recall” and “does not believe” occurred.
Plus, Fox News’ history with its treatment of the women folks doesn’t help Bolling’s case. Several sexual harassment lawsuits have been filed against the news media organization, accusing the executives of creating an environment that is a haven for sexual harassment.
Former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson settled a multi-million dollar sexual harassment lawsuit against the network.
In the lawsuit, Gretchen Carlson accused then Fox News CEO Roger Ailes of sexually harassing her. It is a claim which Ailes denied.
However, the lawsuit and several other claims filed by current and former female workers resulted in Ailes resigning from the network.
Along with Ailes, former “The O’Reilly Factor” host Bill O’Reilly was told to take the door marked exit following the wave of sexual harassment lawsuits filed against him.
Like Ailes, O’Reilly denied the claims. But, his denials weren’t enough to overcome the overwhelming evidence presented by current and former female workers.
Bolling, who co-hosted on The Five, is known for supporting Ailes and O’Reilly while bashing former Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner for doing what Bolling is alleged to have done; which is sending nasty pictures to the women folks.
Ironically, it was the series of events following Ailes’ and O’Reilly’s exit amidst sexual harassment allegations that led to Bolling getting a special time slot to host the new gigs, “Fox News Specialists” and “Cashin In.”
Unfortunately for Bolling, irony may not be done with him just yet. Just as he rode in on the sexual harassment claim wave that washed away Ailes and O’Reilly, Bolling could very well find himself being the victim of the same wave that caused his two buddies there to be lost at sea.
